P3 also created wonderful work on the theme of ‘Mermaids’ for the Tesco Bank Art Competition. This work was planned in pencil then completed in black pen and chalk pastels. It makes you want to take a trip under the sea!

National Galleries Art Competition Winner!
We are delighted to announce that Alfie, p3S has been awarded a special merit in the p1-3 category, ‘Pirates and Mermaids!’ There were over 7700 entries this year from all over Scotland are we are proud to have another winner in this prestigious competition! Well done Alfie, we love your ‘Merman’!
Picture Japan Winners!
Huge congratulations to our three prizewinners , ( Ursi, first prize P6, Suvi, third prize P5 and Megan, third prize P7 ), in this year’s ‘Picture Japan’ art competition run by the Japanese Consulate. The pupils were presented with certificates and prizes at the ‘Children’s Arts Day’ held at St Mary’s Cathedral in Palmerston Place.
Pirates Ahoy!
Pupils in p3 thoroughly enjoyed exploring ways of representing ‘Pirates’ when entering the Tesco Bank Art Competition for Schools! Their delightful work shows bold use of colour and composition and a range of media use including watercolour, oil pastels and chalks. Well done p3!
2017 Fringe Poster Competition Success
