In Art and Design we are learning to show ‘mood’ in our figure drawing.
This is a great opportunity for you to capture some family members on paper! Make 3 or 4 two minute sketches of someone. They could be curled up on the sofa, lying on the floor, legs crossed …..choose a position they will be in for a while! Once you have worked out the proportion and perspective of the figure, complete a more detailed drawing. You don’t need to focus on the face…think more about the shoulders, how the arms and hands are placed. What mood does the body shape suggest? Relaxed? Tired? Inspired?
Use your pencil with different amounts of pressure to add TONE to your work.
