Numeracy for P4-5 & P5: Wednesday 29th April

This week we have been learning about measuring lengths, in particular we are learning about perimeter.

Perimeter is the total distance around a 2D shape.

We measure the perimeter of a 2D shape by adding together the length of all of its sides. Let’s look at an example:

To work out the perimeter of this shape, we need to add together all the sides: 7+3+7+3 = 20. So, the perimeter of this shape is 20.
