Egyptian Gods

We have been exploring examples of Egyptian art found in the pyramids of Egypt. Many pictures were carved in stone. We found that figures were  drawn with the bodies facing forward but the legs and heads facing to the side. We tried standing like this – it is quite difficult!

Our Egyptian Gods are wearing different masks – some in the shape of animals. We  drew a sketch first to help us understand this style of art before creating our final designs on sandpaper. We loved using oil pastels on the sandpaper – this was a new experience for us and we liked the feeling of it!
