P5’s Holyrood Palace Trip

Primary 5 had a wonderful visit to Holyrood Palace as a culmination of our learning about Mary Queen of Scots and impressed the guide with their knowledge and enthusiasm about the subject. They got to tour apartments where Mary Queen of Scots lived, saw historical artefacts that belonged to her and tried on clothes from her era.  They particularly enjoyed seeing the murder scene and examined the blood stain where David Rizzio was brutally killed, the gallery with paintings showing all the previous kings of Scotland and Mary Queen of Scots, the secret door as well as evidence of battles  damaging the woodwork  in this room and all the challenges set to find artefacts showing the way of life in historical times.
