Written by: Joseph & Logan

In P5F, we created a PowerPoint about Mary Queen of Scots. Using Book Creator,  we recorded facts about Mary Queen of Scots. Here are some of our favourite facts:

  • She killed 300 people.
  • Her full name is Mary Stuart.

In art, we did portraits of Mary Queen of Scots and Rizzo.

P6 Update

Written by: Ayaan, Gene & Rory

In P6, in the last two weeks, we have been looking at different written strategies in maths, such as chimney sums. We have also been lucky enough to welcome university students into our class to help with some tricky maths concepts. This week we explored square numbers.

Last Monday we visited Edinburgh Zoo and we learnt how to identify male and female animals by their body parts and colouring. We have been learning about puberty and the changes to the body that may occur for males and females throughout puberty.

In reading, we have been reading a description of something or someone and we then had to visualise it and then draw it.

P4 Update

Written by: Finlay

In P4, we have been learning about advertising and media to help us prepare for the Christmas Fair. And it is very exciting, we can’t wait! We are going to use other skills too, such as language and mathematics to run our enterprise stalls. There are various things we have to do, like planning our purchasing and creating adverts.

P1/2 Update

Written by: Max L

In P1/2 we have been learning about different ways you can use line to create pictures. First we created different shaped line monsters, then we used line to create a landscape picture and finally we decorated line snakes for art. It was really fun.

We have also been learning about the weather. We made weather clocks to show the different weathers outside. Some of our class really wanted to include a sandstorm but we don’t get many of those outside our school! It was fun and cool.

For Diwali, we learnt about the story of Rama and Sita. We really enjoyed hearing about the evil king, Ravana, and his trickster ways. We wrote and illustrated our own version of the story.

Bake sale Fundraiser

Our bake sale on Friday 2nd of November raised a whopping £151.80 to help us invest in resources to develop the nursery.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took time to donate some delicious baking for us to sell, and to everyone who donated to our total! We especially want to thank those parents and family members who took on a leading role in organising and running the event. We are so impressed with what we have raised so far and really appreciate all your support!

Happy Diwali!

This week we have been learning all about the Hindu celebration of Diwali.  We have been busy making diyas and designing our own rangoli patterns out of glitterToday one of our families came in to share the Diwali story, answer our questions about how Diwali is celebrated, and share their traditions during the festival of light.
