Friday 1 May – P3

698C17D2-D412-4272-A0E7-91E02D226C5EGood morning P3!

Thanks to everyone who took part in the “ guess my ingredients” challenge this week. The 8 ingredients in my savoury muffins were flour, baking powder, butter, milk, bacon, egg, parsley and cheese. Lots of you managed to correctly guess some of the ingredients and it was great to see/ hear that some of you had been making something similar at home! If you would like to see my recipe you find it under a separate post on P3 page.

If you are looking for something to do today then why not try some handwriting.        Last week I used an Ipad to do the handwriting but it didn’t work very well so this week I am trying a whiteboard. ( you see, teachers are learning lots during lock down too!) Even though the whiteboard is not in very good condition, I think the writing looks better and is hopefully easier for you to see but let me know what you think.

Have a great weekend,

Miss Fraser 🙂

Thursday 30 April -P3

Good morning P3!

It was great to see so many of you trying out the Maths activity yesterday. I have  received some lovely emails this week from some P3’s and their families. It was fantastic to hear all the things you have been doing at home……den building, camping, baking, drawing, writing and lots more!

If you are looking for something to do today they why not have a look at your HL grid and try the activity  “Something extra”? It might be hard to see the photo on the grid so I have posted it here. Can you think of any everyday things (like feeding the ducks) that could be adapted to a funny lockdown version? I’d love to see your ideas.

And if you are wanting to hear the next 2 chapters of the 52 Storey Treehouse I will be emailing it this afternoon.

Have a good day!

Numeracy for P4-5 & P5: Wednesday 29th April

This week we have been learning about measuring lengths, in particular we are learning about perimeter.

Perimeter is the total distance around a 2D shape.

We measure the perimeter of a 2D shape by adding together the length of all of its sides. Let’s look at an example:

To work out the perimeter of this shape, we need to add together all the sides: 7+3+7+3 = 20. So, the perimeter of this shape is 20.

This video is useful to help explain perimeter:

Remember you are working on p67-70 of the SPMG textbook, the pages at the bottom of the weekly plan.

Wednesday 29 April – P3

Good morning P3!

Well done to everyone who had a go at this week’s spelling challenge. Here are the answers.  Lots of you got them right!  And yes, it was me that ate all the fruit pastilles! (You all know me very well!)

I have posted a wee video on the school Twitter page that might help you if you are stuck with the Maths activity on your HL grid. (textbook pg  36).

And check your email tomorrow because I will be sending the next 2 chapters of storytime for you to listen to!

Miss Fraser 🙂
