February Update

We are all learning about position. To learn about position we first looked at pictures and talked about where the fox was positioned – like ‘in the bush’ or ‘next to the house’. We drew some pictures of our own to show different positions.

We then used the iPad to make a book of different positional words and most of us climbed onto the tables to show ‘on top’!

In Art, we have been learning to weave. We had the choice of either doing a beach or a countryside landscape. We have had fun doing it as it is very relaxing. It’s difficult at first but it’s gets easier when you know how to do it. They are all really nice. Most people loved doing this activity and we would love to do it again.

We are also writing a diary entry about an air raid. We got some inspiration from the ‘Diary of Anne Frank’. People came up with some fabulous ideas.

In maths, we have been learning about the perimeter and area of shapes and we have enjoyed playing fun games involving centimetres and metres.

We have been practising our writing. We were retelling the story of ‘Owl Babies’. In the story, three baby owls missed their mummy. We worked in different groups. We found the task easy and we liked it because we liked the story. We made sure we used capital letters and full stops.

In maths, we have been learning the multiplication formal method and using this to solve word problems. We have also been looking at solving a mathematical murder mystery puzzle and thinking about data handling by using pie charts and surveys. W

Every Friday we have been doing an hour of code.
