Art Competition Winner!

Lucy, p6R, was delighted to hear that her mixed-media collage had won 2nd prize in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children’s  art competition, ‘Through the Window’. She attended a prizegiving at the hospital where her work, ‘Purple Sunlight’, was framed and on display.

“I got a lot of inspiration from the paintings that were there… I was impressed by the other pictures. One was completed by a blind boy and it was my favourite! We had the chance to speak to the other artists and give each other art tips!”    Lucy

Warm Winter Snacks

After all the snow last week the nursery children decided we should have snacks which would keep us warm in the cold weather. We discussed our favourite warm and wintry foods and designed a menu for the week. Each day children took responsibility for preparing their chosen winter foods. This week we have enjoyed preparing and eating beans on toast, hot chocolate, tomato and cheese pasta, porridge, veggie pita pizzas, mini apple and cinnamon pastries and vegetable soup.

The Water Cycle

P4 F have been learning about the water cycle.  We have been finding out how water gets cleaned and reused.

The children then drew their own designs for a water cleaning plant or machine.  We then shared our designs with the class and we voted for the ones we liked the best.  We thought you might like to see the ones that were chosen too!

Designs by Alfie, Imogen, Fraser, Caleb and Robbie.
