A Week in P1

Much of our learning in P1 happens through interactions, conversations and play. We try to avoid having the children sitting in one place for a long period of time – a general rule of thumb is 1 minute of listening for every year of their age, i.e. 5 or 6 minutes at a time! Here is the timetable we use to guide our weekly planning.

Really weird removals chapter 23 to 27

We are very lucky that author Daniela Sacerdoti has kindly given us permission to share the final few chapters of our class reading book – Reallyweirdremovals.com. Please feel free to download and finish the book we have all enjoyed so much…the ending is excellent. Once finished you could write a book review or a list of questions to ask the class.

In this grid you will see what we have been doing weekly in literacy. Please refer to your home learning pack for the spellings linked to Friday’s sounds. On a Monday there is a V.C.O.P focus (vocabulary, connectives, openers & punctuation), you can find a variety of resources online to teach this such as; twinkl (free to sign up) and bbc bitezise KS2.
